Champions League: Gianluigi Buffon names club to win trophy

Paris Saint-Germain veteran goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon has named a club as favourites to win this season’s Champions League.

According to Buffon, La Liga champions, Barcelona, are the favourites to win the Europe topflight league trophy this term.

The 40-year-old pointed out that the Camp Nou club have the best players in the world currently.

Last season, Barcelona were knocked out in the quarter final stage of the tournament by Roma with a goal difference after both legs ended in a 4-4 aggregate.

Speaking about the club he sees as Champions League favourites, Buffon was quoted by Give-Me-Sport as saying: “Champions League favourites? You have to say Barcelona because they have the best player in the world.”

Barcelona will tonight take on Inter Milan in the Champions League fixture at the San Siro Stadium.
