EPL: Garth Crooks names club that’ll stop Manchester City from winning second consecutive title

Former Manchester United player, Garth Crooks has said only Liverpool can stop Manchester City from winning second consecutive Premier League title this season.

City won last season’s Premier League title with a record 100 points from 38 games.

Crooks, however, believe the Reds are City’s closest challengers for the Premier League title this season.

“Liverpool look like the team most likely to stop Manchester City from winning the title for a second consecutive season,” Crooks told BBC Sport.

“However, should anything happen to Liverpool’s frontline attack then we may have a different situation entirely,” he said.

Liverpool have made a strong start to the new campaign under manager, Jurgen Klopp.

They have won all five of their opening games to leave them on top of the Premier League table alongside Chelsea.

The Anfield club will take on Southampton in their next Premier League fixture on Saturday after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 last weekend.
