Nigeria vs Libya: Taribo West singles out two Super Eagles players for praise
Aina was introduced very early for Shehu Abdullahi who went off injured, while Ekong lasted the entire duration of the game and even wore the captain armband following Ahmed Musa’s substitution.
“Overall the defence didn’t do too well in terms of organization, especially in dealing with aerial duels. Two players did very well considering they were not so assured in previous game. Ekong and Aina are the two players.
“Ekong has the abilities of a natural leader due to his passion and commitment while Aina has matured in his tackles and reading of play. His positional awareness was superb,” West said.Former Nigerian defender, Taribo West, has said he was impressed with the performance of William Troost-Ekong and Ola Aina, as the Super Eagles defeated Libya 4-0 in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday.
Speaking with OwnGoalNigeria, West said both players did well as to how they stood up to the Libyans.
