“The church is swimming against the tide, and in many places it has, unfortunately, capitulated and dancing to the tune of the world; here in our country, we have witnessed the ascendancy of synthetic religious messages and practices that have exalted sociological and psychology above theology,” the governor said.

He continued, “while the church may have grown in visibility, numbers and financial resources, we have, painfully, lost ground spirituality; the evidence is all around us – loss of the fear of God, lack of sense of right and wrong, alarming rate of divorce even in the church, and the proliferation of night clubs, lounges and other such lurid entertainment centres that stir up the spirit of sin.”
He congratulated the Anglican Church for the 40th anniversary of EFAC, asserting, “evangelism remains the number one priority of the church.”

Bro. Peter Ozodo had in a sermon, called for the proper preaching of the word of God and urged the people to repent from their evil ways as “righteousness exalts a nation not money.”
