Osun election: No corps member escaped with electoral materials ― NYSC DG
The Director-General of the National Youths Service Corps, Brig. Gen. Suleman Kazaure, on Tuesday, has reacted to reports that a Corp member, who worked as ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, in the last Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State escaped with Electoral materials.
The DG, who dismissed the rumour, said no report of such was received by either the state or the national headquarters of the NYSC in Abuja.
Kazaure stated this at the opening ceremony of the 2018 NYSC Annual Management Conference, held in Akure, the Ondo State capital. The theme of the conference was ‘NYSC at 45: Consolidating Gains and Creating Opportunities’.
He said, “From what we have gathered from Osun State election, the conducts of the corps members were excellent. They conducted themselves very well and I am pleased with their conducts.
“I also want to say that no corps member absconded with the electoral materials, I don’t think that is true. We have our representatives there and I was adequately briefed about everything that happened there, so there was nothing like that.
“I am just hearing this for the first time. It is not true.”
