Oyo 2019: SDP picks Bolaji Ayorinde as gubernatorial candidate

Members of Social Democratic Party (SDP) across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State on Monday picked a renowned legal practitioner and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde as the party’s gubernatorial candidate ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Ayorinde emerged by affirmation and a “Yes” vote during the gubernatorial primary election of the party held in Ibadan, the state capital where he remained the sole aspirant of the party.

Chairman of SDP in Oyo State, Alhaji Kola Balogun while speaking, described the development as a positive move for the party in Oyo State, adding that it would lead to the emergence of good governance and responsible government in Oyo State.

He noted that it was clear that the standard that the SDP flag bearer will be bringing to the governance cannot be matched by any other candidate from any other party.

According to him, Ayorinde will be coming with not only professional excellence but also integrity of purpose and unblemished records in public service.

Ayorinde in his reaction pledged to dedicate himself to the emergence of a government that will enthrone social justice and equitable distribution of the resources of the state for the benefit of the residents.

He also pledged to make Oyo State the most attractive state to invest in Nigeria.
